I was pretty excited when I launched the World Championship drive!
It was a sweet moment for Maureen and I
The winners gathered with their crystal
Even though the grid is 50 yards wide, it sure doesn't look that way when you are on the tee.
Maureen and I couldn't stop smiling!
After winning the World Championship I hit the road the next year on the Long Drive Tour. First stop: Albuquerque, where I recorded my longest ever drive of 435 yards.
My friend John Kikes showed his stuff when he made it to the semi finals in Albuquerque
Along the way the LDA Tour stopped at Des Moines and Chicago
The Alpha Golf Elite Long Drive Team took a few minutes to do a photo shoot
The LDA Tour also stopped at Rochester
And stopped again in Toronto
The LDA Tour ended up at Williamsburg, PA for the Tour Championship, where I took 4th
Maureen and Madison and I made a side trip to Pinehurst to check out the US Open course
Posing with Payne Stewart at Pinehurst
I finished the LDA Tour by capturing Senior Rookie of the Year honors
It was a great first year on the Tour!
When we went to the World Championships in 2004 the LDA put up a "Walk of Fame" with banners of all the past winners
It was quite a thrill to see my name up there
Even better to make it to the finals again
During the year I did lots of charity and corporate work
Helped some great causes and made some new friends
Met some stars like Joe Morgan at his charity tournament in Danville
Of course the biggest prize of the year was our baby girl Madison Seaver Jones
She's a future golfer, already looking for sponsors
